Fuel Pump I think?
Fuel Pump I think?
Ok so the last time this car had the key turned on it was in august and the fuel pump primed. The car has been sitting for a few years so the gas is most likely bad it sure doesn't smell like normal gas.
Anyhow here is the symtoms and what I have done.
Fuel pump does not prime
There is no pressure at the engine, if you push the little relief for the guage nothing happens.
Checked fuel pump fuse, its ok.
Jumped the connector from the hot to the fuel pump wire on the relay. Still nothing.
Used a test light at the back and stabbed the wire going to the fuel pump. It finally lit up. (I was having some trouble seeing if there was power before I jumped the connector)
Pump still no worky
So either there is a short right at the wire connection to the fuel pump or the fuel pump is done I'm guesing right?
Also I am assuming that when the fuel pump was primed in august with old gas it may have just gummed up the whole system?
In tank fuel pumps suck. Especially when the fuel tank is above the rear end and exhaust. (especially when you just put in a rear in the car last weekend, Oh well I guess I'm getting good at this)
Is there anything I could have missed to cause this thing to not work? I just want to make sure before I pull the tank.

You might want to make sure the tank ground is good as the last step before the wonderful job of dropping the tank.
