drag run

So I converted my 1985 elcamino to have a 350 TPI engine, it was converted to speed density and the lip in the plenum was ground down. I have been expecting to run extremely well down the track. But the lowest I could get was a 16.016. kind of embarasing. for some reason the car boggs down at high rpm and I have to let off the throttle a bit to get it to shift, I dont know if its something not adjusted or possibly my 700r4 messing up. anybody got a clue? please help.

also I was wondering of some mods I could do to the engine, because i got a whole year till track opens back up and I would like to add some horses to it.

MIKE

Re: drag run

Typical shifting issues for a 700R4 that's been around awhile. L-98 powering an ElCamino? Thats a heavy car and a mid HP motor, the numbers are pretty close. Plenty of mods to do to it though, exh, heads, cam, intake (HSR, Miniram, Superram)...bore & stroke to 383 the list goes on and on.

Re: drag run

what are some good heads to put on the engine? and also what can I do to beef up the intake, I would like to be in the 14-13 second range, I was thinking about the 383 kit which will drop me big time. embarassing runs though, i had imports passin me left and rite. also is a turbo or supercharger good for theese motors?
