Re: rough start up/gas smell

I have no answer but I will be watching this thread cause my 91Z does the same thing.

Im thinking and thats a guess here ... I was going to buy a new ignition module and ignition coil. Seems like I / we have the gas but not the spark to burn it.

anybody else wanna throw their .02 in. ??

Re: rough start up/gas smell

FWIW... That is exactly how my problems started over a month ago. Hopefully you don't go thru all the headache I have had. That STRONG gas smell on mine was my injectors spraying like car wash hoses. Posted a thread... "Major Flood, No Start" and my problem resolution has led me to the ECM electronics. You can read what I have done on checking the injector resistances. If yours acts the same then don't tear it apart like I did. I'm in the process of putting mine back together while a new 1227165 board is being shipped. Good Luck with it and PLEASE post your results. Maybe I'm out in the weeds with my fix. Won't know until I get another new part.
