my car is a 86 iroc z z28. it origionally came with a 305 and had a 350 installed later. i dont think when the last owner did that, he switched the stock computer for the 350. it runs funny and a mechanic told me it had to be the stock computer thats why it was messed up. idk how to tell the stock computer from the 350. or how to go about this. any ideas?

 

You don't have to switch the entire computer when going from 305 to 350, you do have to switch the PROM inside the computer though. You also need to change the ESC Module, the injectors, and the knock sensor. Everything else is compatible. I just went through the same deal with my S10 pickup, I pulled out the 1988 TPI 305 and installed a 1989 TPI 350.
