MAF question
Can deleting the screen in the MAF cause the service engine soon light to come on?. I recently did this being very careful not to touch any of the wires. I then took my car to my mechanic to get a new speedo cable and told him to run a diagnostic on it because the light comes on all the time and he said that the code read that the MAF was messed up not giving it the right fuel/air ratio but he said he was pretty sure that it was an electrical problem with it and i know he did not take the intake apart to see that i cut out the screens. So i was wondering if this increase in cfm could cause and error, or if he was right and i need a new MAF

Re: MAF question
As long as you didn't disturb the wires inside, then no...Lack of screens alone won't cause the SES light to come on. I don't have screens. Haven't for 3 years now....No SES light.
You could get the code yourself at home, then tell us what it is.
