got code 41 and 43

code 41 is wrong metcal? Code 43 is est? I loaded aujp 8d and found the vats are set so I changed it then got the codes. I may have forgotten to uncheck something? I am running the stock 66 amp alt that came with the truck with one wire off the back going to the starter and the two connecter on top disconnected. Should I have a 1990 alternator on this swap? Could the low amps be screwing me up?

Don't know why I would have a bad metcal? But the code 43 is the knock sensor. I don't have one so I will have to uncheck it in the bin. I can also uncheck the code 41 but is that the right thing to do?

Code 51 is for wrong memcal. Code 43 is for the ESC. You may have a spark knock going on. I got code 43 when I was running lean. Turned out to be the MAF. How does it run when you punch it? Does it ping like crazy or not. It will sound like a bunch of rocks rattling in a can.

I looked at the code 41 said cylinder select/ metcal. I will recheck it. Sometimes I will hear pinging but the knock is not hooked up, how could it throw a code if there is no sensor? Should this be posed on diy prom?

Re: got code 41 and 43

Not sure how it still throws the code, but it happened to me like that too. The code may be an indication that your MAF is going. To check that, unplug the MAF and take it for a quick drive. Will be hard starting at first but will start. Then give it a good stomping. If the pinging goes away, your MAF is going down hill. As for code 41, not sure what that could be. Possible bad chip, but see if you can find some info on that code by googling it.
