Couple of quick questions.
In the first picture you can see that there are bolts for every hole except for one. What is this threaded hole for? it is located next to the distributor and looks as though it is a coolant passage.
In the second pic- is this the correct location of the coil bracket? I have a hi flow base and there is a lump in between these to holes where as the bracket will not set down. is this something that has to be cut out to fit? On the coil, what direction does the terminal face. passenger or drivers side. i am not for sure if i have it backwards or not.
in the third pic- is this the proper location of the cts and hose barbs? what are the other 2 threaded holes for above the CTS for?
It has been a long time since i took this all apart and now that i am trying to put it back together, i wish i would have took pics. i forget where just about everything goes.
Can someone give me a brief explanation of what/where all the vacuum lines go from the plenum. i have a MAP system. And if i remember right there are 3 barbed hose end on the passenger rear of the plenum. 1 goes to the AFPR. other 2? there is one larger hose end toward the back/drivers side, where does this go? i also have one on my IAC, where does this go to? Here is what i have come up with so far.
rear pass side- 1small-fpr 1small-egr sensor 3medium-HVAC
rear driver side 1-brake booster
underside of plenum 1-IAT sensor
bottom of TB or IAC 1-cruise control/charcoal canister
Is this correct?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If someone has some good pics of a MAP TPI that shows where all the original brackets and hoses went, i would really like to see them. basically i would like close ups of the tpi system from all angles so that i can see where the brackets are and where the hoses run to.
Thanks in advance for any help!!!!

Re: Couple of quick questions.
If you are talking about the approx. 6mm diameter hole on the driver side of the distributor it is an oil galley port used on 86? and earlier SBC cars for an alternate oil pressure feed i.e. mechanical oil pressure gauge/switch
The proper coil location for GM HEI remote mount coil is on a metal bracket that is bolted to the intake manifold above the cylinder #8. The bracket is a "C" bracket if view from the profile. The coil sits on top of that. Map sensor vaccum lines are preformed ABS plastic hoses. There is an elbow that goes into the map sensor to the port on the plenum along with preformed hoses for EGR and EGR purge solenoid. These all run beneath the plenum. Helps to have a wife with small hands. :-)
You have the ETC in the correct port on the front of the intake manifold. It is to the left of the heater bypass. Don't forget this is the one for the ECM/PCM. You have another on bank 1 (driver side) in the head between cylinders 1 and 2 for the coolant gauge. If you are running this setup in an F body with dual fans you have a third coolant switch/sensor bank 2 between cylinder 7 and 8 for the 2nd fan. Without this sensor the fans may not work.
Let me know if I can be of any other help

Re: Couple of quick questions.
i have found the answers to some of my questions.
pic 1-it is a collant pssage hole but just needs to be blocked of on the edlebrock hi flow base.
Pic2-i have the correct location, had to cut out bracket to fit since edlebrock has a raised area. what direction does the coil go? terminal vs. plug. terminal on drivers side?
Pic 3-what does ETC stand for? you mean CTS (cooland temp sensor). My question on this pic is do i have the three correct fitting. the heater bypass (top right) i am pretty sure is correct. Is the CTS in the right location or should it be under the Heater bypass? And is the other fitting under the heater bypas correct and what does it go to. i have been doing searches trying to find out what goes where but i think between corvette, camaro, and maf vs. map are all different. i have a map system by the way. 90-92. i have read that the cts goes under the heater bypass and the other hole just gets blocked because it was used for corvettes and a cold start injector sensor. im confused on this one.
Same thing goes for all of the vacuum ports on the plenum. i have read so many different ways and usually no one states what system they are talking about. i remember seeing a thread that explained it perfectly between all of the years and i believe even had a diagram but do you think i could find that now? Ha. anyway on this i am looking to find out what goes where and what size of vacuum fiting. the way i have it now is on the passenger rear of the plenum there are 2 right next to each other and they are both the small fitting. i believe one of these is for the FPR and the other for the EGR. then i have one on the drivers rear that is the large fitting. i believe this goes to the brake booster, but have read differences on this too? underneath i have the IAT sensor. and there is one more that i think is also on the passenger rear and this is the medium fitting. not for sure what this goes to. i also have a small one underneath of the TB or IAC valve and i think this goes to a T fitting and then to the Charcoal canister. is this correct?
