Anyone know of a Gen 1 style head with specs similar to the Vortec 062 cylinder heads? I'm compiling a parts list for a 350 build and I've had the TPIS sitting around for some time and didn't want to have to go with a Vortec base since I already have this one. I also want to keep costs reasonable since this isn't going to be a radical engine, I'm looking to keep compression in the 9.5-10:1 range as well.

 

chevy intake has 12 intake bolt holes.... vortec has 8. they do not interchange. all vortec intake patterns are the same. so theres no diff

quick fix for ur delema.... patriot performance sells small block heads that are machined for chevy and vortec intake bolt patterns. as well as center bolt/perimiter valve covers.

got mine for 860 shipped 195cc, aluminum assembeled. flow 260-270cfm enough for 550hp. stainless valves backcut, vitton seals, spring upgrade for .600 lift roller cam. ported, partial CNC bowl blend etc.

they have 180-195 and new 225cc heads. they are cheap and perform really good for the money.

 

I understand that, I'm looking for similar specs (port volume, chamber cc,etc.) in a traditional Gen 1 type head. I also appreciate the Patriot info, I'll look into them further.

 

the new vortec heads will outperform any old iron head. vortec has taller ports and quick burn aka heart shaped combustion chambers. ports are taller and narrower than chevys.
