tps

Heres my car it is a 1987 Trans Am with a 350 TPI. So heres my question guys my TPS just went out. I had replaced it last may it had the stock one and replaced it and adjusted it accordingly then like a week later it wouldnt start again so i replaced my TPS and it started great so then i decided to change the distributor cap and rotor and plugs the car ran perfect the rest of the summer and i got it out from winter storage probally the beginning of march and it ran great then one day it wouldnt start so i let it sit and it started right up and drove it pry for like a week and then last night i couldnt get it started so basically can you guys think of anything that would be ruining a tps cause its going to get old haveing to change a tps every year thanks in advance for all you help

Re: tps

Could be your cold start injector is plugged. Does it crank over and just not fire up? I had this problem with my car before I added the cold start injector. I don't think your TPS will keep it from starting.

that is something i will check but it will fire but u have to keep your foot on the gas and if you take your foot off it will idle but if you touch it or put it in gear it will die and i get a code 22 this is the same thing it was doing last time could a cold start injector be causing this

Re: tps

That is a code for TPS low voltage. What is your referance voltage at that sensor showing? Also, you may need to check what the voltage reading is at the ECM. May have a bad ECM and it causing an intermittant issue.

Re: tps
