What Now!

My freaking saga continues! I replaced my 24 year old stock injectors with a set of Bosch III's and my car is running worse than it was before I replaced them. I don't know what the problem is. It seems like it's either starving for fuel or else it has more than it knows what to do with, I don't know which. I replaced the fuel filter after replacing the injectors. Fuel pressure seems fine. When I accelerate, at first it acts like it doesn't want to go. The shift from 1st to 2d (automatic transmission) is erratic, and it shifts hard. After the car warms up it seems to be better, but there is something that is just not right. I had my mechanic verify my TPS setting and it's good. I'm to the point where I'm thinking about getting rid of it. All the good memories of driving this thing are quickly being erased. I would appreciate any thoughts anyone might have.

Nope, no codes. When I first started the car after installing the injectors, there was a major vacuum leak. You could actually hear it sucking air. It was because I hadn't torqued the throttle body down. It would start, but not keep an idle. After torquing down the throttle body, it fired right up and held it's idle. It ran decent the first couple of times I drove it, but it has steadily gotten worse.

Re: What Now!

Have you done any data logging to see what the sensor report? I've been fighting a problem with no SES codes, and it seems that it's going to turn out to be the ignition module. I should know tomorrow when I go back to retrieve my car from a parking lot. I'm taking a new distributor with me and installing right there.

I don't have any type of diagnostic equipment. I normally take my car to the shop, but given the state of the economy and how quickly my pay check disappears, I'm trying to fix some problems myself. I'm thinking I probably need to reset my idle air control and after researching my cars symptoms, unplugging the MAF to see if that has any affect.

You need this:

Best $80 I ever spent on my car. Then you just download TunerProRT for free. You'll need a laptop.
