Hi, I have a 383, with AFR heads, HSR, and 42lbs injectors. I finally after a year, got around to getting the car started, and now i notice sound, its a clanking sound, its like two sounds per second and comes from the intake and not the heads. Clank, one million, clank... I dont really know what it is, and and when I rev it up I dont really hear, nor notice hear an increase in the incidents of the sound. I have read on one of the searches that I did, that maybe the noise could be coming from the larger injectors, and the aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. Any insight will be of help.. thanks Randall

did you start it last year, if not maybe you dropped a bolt in intake

 

Take a vacuum hose of about 3 feet long and use it has an stethoscope to pin point the noise. With that you probably find easier where the noise come from.

You did a test run to the car?

U recently changed the heads to some AFR. And I know I didn't drop any bolts. The sound appeared after the head swap. I think it might be my valve lash but it's not comming from the heads so that's why i'm lost.

 

also i need to add that the noise started after i had my tranny worked on, the new clutch installed.. thanks
