I had the Kenny brown STB on my car for a while and when i put poly mounts in it started rubbing. Looks like the UMI might have alittle bit more clearance. Is anyone running this? I also have SLP runners not sure if that matters though.

 

My UMI STB has a pretty decent range of adjustment on the mounts, which could raise & lower the height of where the cross bar ends up. Not a WHOLE lot, but some, at least. I'd guess a good 1/8"-1/4" of difference.

I first mounted mine up as low as possible, to clear my GTA hood, which is doesn't, and while it cleared the TPI plenum, apparently it wasn't enough after the engine torqued over while driving.

I now have a 1/16" deep "scar" that I'm currently trying to sand the top of the plenum down smooth, to get rid of the groove the STB made.

It was a test mount for UMI & expected not to clear the GTA, which we confirmed with my car.

 

I have a OEM TPI motor and poly motor mounts. My UMI STB clears the plenum but is close. Does not rub.

 

The kenny brown stb i had on the car cleared but would rub from the flex.

 

i assume this is going on the camaro? the fitment issues that Stephen mentioned, are for the firebirds, trans am and gta in particular. Camaros do not have this issue.
