Jeez what a whine fest. I too got sucked into thinking I was going to see an original '88 Iroc. But it turned out to be a nice "period" custom instead.
Good luck with the car and just drop the tank.

im going to cut a hole for my fuel pump access but yours if different.
if its an original 88 with only 100 miles then dont touch it at all.
drop the tank and fix it and leave everything just like it was new.

Hate to bring an old hated thread back but,As i read this post as what I said and responded I apologize to everyone Involved.I have no idea why i said what i said in the thread and named it mint i-roc 100miles.If i was to redo the thread,I would of made it need advice on fuel pump not all the bs i wrote.I guess i just wanted the attention lol.Anyway back to the car.Dropped the gas tank,Unfroze the fuel pump, cleaned it all out and the car ran.Took about 2-3 hours. The whole muffed was rotted out i guess from sitting so long.Did all this back in august.Im just glad there was no bearing knock. Now I start the car once a month and let it run. Thanks for all the advice

Re: 1988 irocz 100 original miles mint
I bet it was stuck from sitting for years. My Formula 350 sat for over 5 years, and it forze up. You can work the blades in the pickup and it will sometimes free up the pump, but I bet the pump goes bad REALLY fast. Mine did, and I cut an access whole in the hatch area to replace it. I had no choice. I had to get it changed on the side of the road, so I didn't have access to the proper place or tools to change it. I will definately NOT cut a hole next time. It's just not worth it. Get the car on a lift and take 3 hours to keep the car intact. My 2 cents.
