major LB9 mods some questions

Hi guy's, attached is a pic of my newly modded stock shortblock LB9 in my 92 vert. I'm just putting on the finishing touches and getting ready to start it up and leak check it so i can get down to the business of burning bins and tuning it. A quick list of the specs is, TFS 175 heads, comp 266h-r14 cam, Edelbrock base, I think Accel runners (bought used not sure), ford supercoupe 30lb injectors (cleaned and flow checked etc.) Summit 52mm throttle body, shorty headers, 3inch catback exhaust to a spintech muffler, and lots of other minor stuff. Now some questions that hopefully someone will know the answers to. I've got the holley ajustable fuel pressure regulator and with a guage on the rail when i prime the pump as soon as it stops running the pressure drops to 0 pretty much instantly. There are no external leaks. I've read on here that some people say this is normal for the holley AFPR but it doesnt seem right to me, does anyone know if this is the way these regulators are?
Next question is, before i started these mods I was having trouble with my oil pressure gauge being pegged all the time, so I decided to change the sending unit, I took out the old one and promptly lost it,(no problem right i was getting a new one anyway) And now I've bought 3 new ones from 3 different auto parts stores and none of them would fit! they all list a unit with what looks like about a 1/2 inch threaded portion and one time I was given one with a 1/4 inch threaded end the problem is the hole in my block appears to be 7/16? has anyone run into this issue before? I need the stupid sender before i can start it up ad the GM dealer cant get me one till next week!

On a 92 the oil pressure sensor is on the left hand side of the block above the oil filter. Threads should be 1/4" NPT, and should look like this:

As for the fuel pressure it may be the check valve in the fuel pump that is allowing pressure to bleed off. You can check this by pinching off the return line and turning the key on, if it still loses pressure then it's the fuel pump or the injectors leaking. Most likely not the injectors so that would leave the fuel pump. If it holds pressure then the regulator is leaking. Hope this helps.

Re: major LB9 mods some questions

I finally got an off brand sender unit that looks identical to that one and seems to be the right size, i dont know why NAPA and the other places kept trying to sell me the wrong one. I'm gonna go see if i cant figure out the fuel pressure issue now and maybe try and start it up.

Re: major LB9 mods some questions

yup 30lb injectors, why i chose those? basically because they were sitting around my shop all cleaned and waiting for a new home and since i am burning a custom bin I dont see them as a problem. Also this is only stage 1 of what i wanna do with this car, next summer i plan to supercharge, and with that the injectors will already be there. back to the oil sender issue, I feel like a real idiot I spent i dont know how many hours trying to screw the F@#$ing sender into the wrong hole!!!! does anyone know what the other hole in this picture is for? Also I cranked the engine over a few times tonight and now the fuel pressure bleeds down way slower im thinking it must have been a leaking/sticking injector

ohm check all the injectors, theres a tutorial on it on youtube if you search "checking fuel injector resistance"

Re: major LB9 mods some questions

I had the injectors inspected flow checked and cleaned on a 'new age' machine right before i installed them and they were fine. I'm kind of concerned about that open hole cause it isnt a blind hole, it seems to open up into a passage, do any of you guys know what if anything is supposed to go there? it's right above the oil filter housing.
