a little help with my application (84 K10)

First off, yes I know that this isn't a TG, but it is a tpi on a chevy, and I do own a TGO (member since '01, damn that was a long time ago)

anyways, I picked up an '84 k10 350 chevy, with a recent rebuild. it has a crappy old Quadra-jet on it that I have to choke on a warm day. I have a Gen I style TPI laying around and thought it would be perfect for this truck. I'm not looking to do anything much more than stock with the TPI, but I am indeed of a wiring harness, I see that Painless sells one for 450 or so, I have a chip burner so I can do the chip myself. I also have a cam shaft laying around with about .489 lift and 216/217 duration.

I'm basically looking for any advice on the best way to do this without breaking the bank (I just bought a 454 for my '91 RS)

I guess I don't exactly know what your question is. For one, If your on a budget go find a decent harness out of a tpi from a salvage yard. No need to spent 500 on a harness. I don't know what heads your running but with the lift on that cam you will yank the press in studs out of a stock l-98 head. Some people have got away with it but if it were me just for the extra insurance I would at liest put screw in studs in and some poly locks.

You will definetly need to do some kinda tuning as that cam is a lot more agressive that the stocker.

I guess I wasn't the clearest on that.

Should I even bother with that Cam Shaft? or just leave the motor as a stock 355 with a TPI on it?
