Relay confusion

Hey, i just retrofitted an '85 305 tpi into my '71 chevelle. I converted the wiring and relays to an '86 setup. I have an '89 ecm and '89 maf, but a stock 86 305 prom. My burnoff relay is not delivering a burnoff to my maf (just one of my problems besides running so extremely rich that it dies instantly). Should i keep this relay setup or switch to the '89 setup because of the ecm?

Re: Relay confusion

the ecm's from '86 to '89 were all the same, the 86 prom should not have any adverse affect on it. also the stock 89 prom has vats on it, if you use that your car will not start.

You may have gotten a bad relay or something is off in your wiring.

In '86 the maf power and burn relays were different part numbers be sure you got the right ones on the right connectors.
