Ignition

In upgrading my ignition, my car is relatively stock except the exhaust. What upgrades would anyone recomend that would fit my car ignition and or maybe Computer chip? Its an everyday driver with 186,550 miles. It still runs great. Have a whole new cooling system, timing gear set, I just want to finish it with some GOOD spark....Need help. Please feel free to private message me. thanks

Re: Ignition

Well for the ignition system the only thing i can really recomend is a good tune up. Ide upgrade the plug wires to some larger spiral core wires but beond that theres not much i can recomend. There isnt really a lot of point in getting a high voltage coil as the coil will only generate enough voltage to cause spark and the factory piece is fine for a near stock motor. Now if you wanted to get a control box for that distributor that can help a bit as they can do things like fire multipul small sparks in the low RPMs instead of just one big one and can have other features like rev limiters. Although this may not be a technically street legal mod and eliminates knock sensors ability to control detonation its also fairly expencive.
