Coolant temp sender part number?

Howdy all, i'm going nuts here. I'm trying to get my coolant gauge working with my LT1 swap.

Now on my old L98 it was the 1 wire sender on the driver side head. However every part store I have been to, or talked to today seems to only list parts for the Fan switch on the pass. side, or the coolant temp sensor on the intake that feeds the ECM its info.

I did find a reference in one thread I searched here, and the PN# listed was MPETS6641SB. However, that Part number turns up nothing on any of the online stores I looked at.

Does anyone know what the part # for this would be? All of the parts store guys think i'm insane for thinking my old engine had 3 seperate coolant sensors/switches but I know it did. The parts they were bringing to the counter were all standard 2 wire Coolant temp sensors for the ECM, and not the 1 wire sender for the gauge.

I found a part# WT3000Z which might be it, but I can't find any pictures or descriptions beyond "Coolant Temp Sensor". And none of the parts stores had one in stock for me to look at.

If this gets any stranger I may have to junkyard the sender.

I found this on the autozone website; part # TU66. It looks different to the cool fan switch and the coolant temp sensor to the ecm. Instead of a round plug, it has a flat one from the looks of the pic, check it out and see if that is what you need.

That might be it, at least its only $10 if its not the right part. I'll have to pick it up.

Much thanks.

That is the usual spot for the fan switch on TPI cars, maybe someone relocated it

My old 89 TPI harness had the fanswitch connector on the passenger side, and the harness wasn't modified. Perhaps it was located in a different place on the other years. But on my 89 the factory location for the fan switch was the passenger side with the sender being located on the driver side.

In any case, Autozone PN# TU66 is indeed the part I am looking for, bought one yesterday.
