LT1 intake swap on 1994 TBI truck

Im awaiting my intake to get here i won off ebay the guy did all the modifications and the welds and everything look very clean on the back side. My question is im going to swap cams also and ive been debating between the CC306 or the GMPP 847 cam. I know its alot of cam but I also found some NOS Bowtie Phase 6 bare aluminum heads I was thinking about running. I already have headers and true dual 3" exhaust and ill probably swap in a s-10 converter to help with the stall for now. What would be some good size injectors to run with that setup? Do you guys think those bowtie heads are worth runnin on a stock 350? Ive read that they're 55cc combustion chambers but they flow really well!

Re: LT1 intake swap on 1994 TBI truck

Im still stumped on heads because new aluminum heads are just so dang pricey!! I wanna run that LT1 setup because next summer I plan to swap in a 406 and I know that intake will flow more than enough to keep up with that motor. Right now I just wanna get rid of the TBI junk and get a little more power. I know those cams are a little small for a 406 so I just wanna get a little thump in my truck for now. Im not a big multi-port guy so thats why I dont really know what injectors to run.... and also which beehive spring kit is usually the best that the LT1 guys run??

Re: LT1 intake swap on 1994 TBI truck

Actually, the GM847 is a total badass of a cam. I was going to throw it in my old LT1 Formula but I sold it.

You will definately need better heads for sure, there i can't help you. But the Gm847 was used in numerous 383 LT1s with awesome results. Funny if I do a cam in my GTA, it will be that cam, I just would need heads to match and throw on an LT1 intake and call it a day.

That S10 stall, is not near enough stall for that cam. You need at least a 3200, 3600 or so would be optimum.

Good luck.
