i just broke in my new motor. its a forged 355 with world product heads, double roller timing chain with high volume oil pump, mild lunati cam, hooker headers, magnaflowcatback, ported pleanum, slp runners, edelbrock base and bbk 52mm throttle body, and bbk regulator set at 40psi. the car should be alot faster then it is it doesnt feel much better then it was with the old beat down motor. what should i look at next, i was thinking the injectors are too small. please give me some advice my cars like a mustang loud but slow

What injectors? 305 or 350 and what chip are you running. Do you have any tuning equipment?

First impression is the fuel pressure is too low if you're running the stock injectors and chip. That might be about right if you happen to be running 350 injectors with the 305 chip though.

Get a tune. I'm sure it will wake it up. I drove mine a bit with the stock tune. When I got my first chip from Fastchips it was like night and day. Since then I started tuning it myself and got even better results.

Your stock injectors should be enough to handle your modifications. Bump the fuel pressure up to 44lbs and see if that helps. If it does, keep going up in two lb increments until it slows down. You probably could get by with setting the base timing to 10-degrees with premium gas. If those two things don't help, you'll need to get the chip burning equipment,,, or you could try running a 305 chip with the pressure at 38 -40 degrees,,, you might just get lucky and it be close enough to run decently.

Best bet would be to get a laptop and datalog it. This will show you if you're maxing out your injectors or going lean.

Check out the DIY PROM board. At the top are a plethora of stickies. They tell you all you need to know about what you need to get started and how to fix several issues.

Re: idk why its soo slow

+1 Tune it. I picked up 25 no kidding crank hp from my mail order tune from PCMFORLESS.com. He only charges $200 for the chip and $50 to retune it. Its a hell of a lot faster than trying to do it yourself unless you are already set up. Not to mention, do you have a AF Ratio gauge? If you dont how the heck the engine is running under load, how are you really going to know whats going on? And if you dont know whats going on inside your engine...how exactly are you planning on tuning it?

This guy tweaks alot of things you wouldnt think to right out of the box. And he can do alot of other things other than performance, like telling your engine it doesnt have smog or egr anymore. Tell your fans what temp to turn on or off. Tell your convertor the speeds to lockup at. ETC ETC

Do you think you could do that in the time it takes him to mail it to you? How about do it right the first time?

Not trying to bash, I just hope you see the light.

25hp for $200 in 15 minutes. Seriously.

You need a wideband guage but also a wideband 02 sensor. the guage is worthless without the 02 sensor and vice-versa. Plan on $200-250 but it will be well worth every penny.
