heads question. And general 350 ??
ok to sum this up. i have an 87 T/A GTA. 350 TPI. i am planning on rebuilding the engine. i have a good set of of 86 and below style heads from AFR, but i want to keep my tpi set up. which brings me to my next question. can i use these heads and just change my tpi manifold? and keep most of the setup; just change the base manifold? Another problem i might have is the push rod lengths? since 87' and up 350's were hydraulic roller correct? with vortec style heads?....sorry for all the questions im just a tad lost on my whole situation. Or should i solve my whole problem with a set of GMPP Vortec heads?

I think you will need to get a different lower manifold as it will be different. Other than that everything else will work. You may also have to change the rocker as they changed to self aligning, but I am not sure what year they changed

Im pretty sure your stock manifold will work fine, only case you have to change the lower manifold in is if you go to vortec heads.
I would guess the heads should bolt right up with egr being the only worry. If you're changing the cam, I would hope you're staying roller unless the extra cost is really an issue.

i'm going to stay roller. and also i think im just going to do away with the egr stuff. and maybe rechip it so the egr setting is off. also do you think the 86' stock tpi lower manifold will work with the rest of my 87' setup?

All of our tpi stuff is totall interchangable minus a few parts that changed when it went speed density in '90, so yes, your manifold will work fine.
