No. Stock MAF resolution is capped at 255 g/sec under transitional load, not at WOT....

.... and there's no way your hitting 255 g/sec at part throttle.

 

I know of several running a 10 sec 434's with crappy slow '85 ECM that have stock MAF

The stock MAS is limited to 255 g/sec in all situations not just part throttle. Scan the car at WOT and see if the MAS hits the 255 g/sec reading. If it does you can compensate in the chip to keep the airfuel ratio safe but it will not be perfect.

 

There is no need for resolution at WOT, that is the whole point. The ECM enters Alpha-N mode. Buick Grand Nationals are a good example of this, as they too are subjected to 255 g/sec, but at 15-psi of boost, the MAF is completely maxed out, yet fueling is still being provided for because of the preconfigured tune. This is why the MAF has no real cap to it, as the tuning needs to be done in the chip, and it will be perfect, after a couple of burns....
