cam and vortec set up
I'm putting the Vortec Top end kit on my stock 198 engine, I wanted to know if I need to change my stock cam for this set up? If so what cam would be a good swap, I dont want to have to change my lifters and push rods either?

Re: cam and vortec set up
As for a cam, Im not too sure to be honost, from wht I've read though you'll want to make sure the cam has greater than 113 degrees of lobe seperation and don't go overboard on the duration. Im sure somebody else will come around and chime in with a more specific cam. Doing a search on 'l98 cam' would probably turn up some good results too of what people have tried.

Re: cam and vortec set up
doing vortec heads, slp runners, vortec base, 1.6 rockers and a gm hot cam would give you 354hp 410tq at the motor..... i read the article and have a very similar combo... the gm hot cam would be a nice cam for your setup..
