i appreciated the INTELLEGENT comments and criticism, after joining this site a few years ago, i talked to ppl like traxion, and quite a few others who KNOW what they are talking about and finally understood how the tpi system works,

when i have a question: this is the first site i search or create a thread on,because most of the 3rd gen owners on this site are very helpful

Kudos to them!! to anyone who badmouths another member...

know what your talkin about before you blurt out "thats BS!"

i have no reason to lie just to impress any of you, theres lots of sick@$$ fast cars on here, if you didnt know how to work on your cars, when they break down youd all be drivin new mustangs, lol were all on here to post, learn and share info gentlemen
Calm down kid. I pulled my engine and dropped in an other, pretty much by myself. I know how a TPI works. But with the story you gave us, please. Your making me waste my time. Youve been a member since 2002 and you only got 100+ posts here in 3rdgen.org. Its a shame that you may think that YOU know a TPI system, when in fact you made made yourself look like a..... well you get what Im saying. Who even commented about emissions? I think your trying to bring attention to yourself. I would of used those $100 on something else. As for your little comment "to anyone who badmouths another member...

know what your talkin about before you blurt out "thats BS!",

I agree, You yourself should know what your typing, not talking, before you try to sound INTELLIGENT.

Your not so intelligent yoursef foo. Look how you spelled the word. You spelled intelligent wrong. Agian, you should proof read before you hit "submit reply." I have to do this agian Hotrod85z, you are .

With all the posts, and discussion about this over the last two or three weeks, proof is in the initial post. There is no way the valve train of a stock 305TPI is gonna spin to 6500/6700 RPM, and 70 MPH in first gear of a TH700R4. Did I mention the likelyhood of his 0-60 in 5.0 seconds being legit? nil.

Re: stand alone tpi? this will trip u out!

Chevy86, If you're willing to learn, and you have - as you say - after a few years since that car - learned how the TPI works.

Then you must admit that no matter how hacked the car was, it would not, could not, run without the ECM. If it was running, again, regardless of how good/bad it was running, it was under ECM control, limp home mode isn't stand alone, it's just fixed settings that will allow the ECM to run the engine within a given afr/rpm range. If the ECM is for all practical purposes dead the engine will not run, period. To clarify - by run I mean idle, much less beat a another stock 305 TPI, let alone a L98, or LT1.

If that has any BS point it out.

So if you know all this why the title "Stand Alone TPI?" adding the question marks shows without a doubt that you doubt your own knowledge.

You know how a Tuned Port intake system works, so unless you modify it it's not going to grow a mind of it's own and operate outside it's OEM design parameters, you did not have a "Herbie", or "Johnny 5", or an "Andrew Martin."

You say you appreciated intelligent comments and criticism.
Here's my only criticism.
Having possessed such a one of a kind, stang, L98, and LT1 killing 305 TPI you did nothing to document its electrical, electronic, and mechanical state? To possibly recreate it, to prove you had an anomaly, a bumble bee as it were (engineers say it shouldn't fly, but the bee doesn't know that.)
Even after years of learning how TPI works - You chose the following words to make your statement:
"...the non ecm controlled tpi 305 wouldve eat the new motors ***" This to me is the only BS on this thread.

And, I'll tell you why I say it, 3 letters, TPI. If you would have left those 3 letters out it would be pausible.

I wouldn't bat an eye if someone said, "my non ecm controlled 305 can eat your newer TPI motor." Yea, I can believe that.

Atleast I'm admitting my mistake. For a long time I've been writing again incorrectly. Atleast I know what I'm typing about. Anyone wanna check my punctuation?

I am impressed how many different ways it can be explained that fuel injectors need to be turned on and off by something other than the ignition switch.
