LT1 cam swap questions
This is what the cam swap would be doing for me...
Peanut Cam - Duration at .050: 179/194 Lift: .350/.384
LT1 Cam - Duration at .050: 202/207 Lift: .450/.460
I was wondering if the following combo will work...
- LT1 cam
- LT4 springs
- Stock 1.5 RR
- Stock heads (some pocket porting)
- Stock push rods
- Stock lifters
Is that enough or too much spring for this? From the searching I've done, it seems like the 1.6 RR with the LT1 cam and LT4 springs will be too much for my stock heads and the LT4 springs would bind. Is this true? Would LT1 springs or even my stock springs be ok with the LT1 cam and either 1.5 or 1.6 RR? How long are the stock push rods? Is $100 for some Crane lifters with only 2k miles on them a good deal? Based on the price in the link it seems like a good deal, but will a basic stock replacement be cheaper?

Re: LT1 cam swap questions
Sounds like it would work. In my 86 IROC, I got a 350, stock block, stock swirl port heads, stock push rods, stock roller lifters, stock rockers, Edelbrock Valve Springs, 1994 Z28 LT1 roller cam and she runs great.

Will LS1 valve springs work on my stock heads? I found a free set.
