How much xtra horsepower can my TPI handle?
How much xtra horsepower can my TPI handle?
Hi.
My name is Michael and i live in Denmark, last yesr i bought a original 1991 Trans AM GTA. And now i want some more horsepower in it, as you all know it comes with 240 hp. So my ? is how can i get around 50-60 more hp and can my TPI handle the increased flow needed?
I have a set of TPI headders from edelbrock that i can buy, the seller says it will increase the hp with 10-20%, that means between 24 and 48 hp???
What do i need to change in the engine to gain xtra hp?
Thanks.
Michael

edelbrock headers are garbage, dont waste a dime on them. there isnt an exhaust made that will add 48 hp to a stock tpi 350 but you should definetly get a good set of headers for it, maybe 15hp. I recommend hooker, hedman or dyno don(a member who makes headers). Next step imo would be porting or changing your intake. then as everyone knows camshaft and heads are your bread and butter for power. Or you can buy a nitrous kit and throw a 75shot at it and there you go 50 more horse and no additional work needed

Search in the exhaust forum about edelbrock headers. Search this tpi forum on changing your intake or porting your stock intake. This website is filled with years of info on almost anything you could want to know if you just
