no fuel to cylinders after new fuel pump install
ok,replaced intake gaskets, tpi gaskets, new coil, new cap and rotor, new e3 plugs, new thermostat, new o rings where fuel lines connect to fuel rail, new air filter, new fuel filter, new pcv, and new fuel pump.car had been sitting awhile.trying to get her going again so i replaced all the gaskets and tried to fire it.did not hear fuel pump so i replaced the fuel pump.hear it now but wont fire.checked pressure at fuel rail and gas spurts out.pulled #1 plug and it is clean.i would believe if it were a spark related problem they would be gas fouled, but theres nothing.after changing the fuel components should i prime it like you would a carb?not too keen on the fi systems but i followed the manual and feel confident all wires and sensors are connected, just at a loss.

Re: no fuel to cylinders after new fuel pump install
same thing happened to my 91' RS 5.0 L03 TBI, undid fuel line to TBI and had pressure, my injectors had electric pulse as well when i pluged in the injector testers, so I got a 3lb hammer and tapped the side of the throttle body and the side of injectors and it kicked loose what little debris was clogging them and then I was in business!!!!! Most likely a clog!!! hope this helps a little,

have your ignition module tested, a bad one will prevent the injectors from firing.

replaced distributor, exchanged coil, still no fire.also unsure about fuel getting through the fuel pressure regulator, checked at nozzle and its good, got tired so im going to give it a break for a couple days so i can reevaluate with a clear mind.could the esc cuase no spark?i was led to believe it just regulated timing when the knock sensor kicked in

if you turn the key on so the dash lights up do you see the check engine light on if not check the ecm fuse by the battery its a 20 amp.

That's a good idea, it's also what I use as a secondary anti theft device that would take a thief eeons to figure out. It works on all GM products as well, just pull the ECM fuse and that baby is going nowhere unless a wrecker takes it!!!

Re: no fuel to cylinders after new fuel pump install
it runs!!!!!too many hands helping got crap mixed up,that and my lack of knowledge of the tpi system kept me from finding the problem.the wire from the coil to the distributor was plugged from the coil to the air temp sensor-doh.i read through a tpi book to find what did what and realized the coil should not be plugged to the temp sensor. it runs great. exhaust leak but one thing at a time,im going to reflect on my victory before the next step-headers and exhaust. thanks to everyone for the help, you kept me thinking and second guessing and that led to success,
