Fuel troubles after new ecm

I installed my new ecm about a week ago and have driven the car about 24 miles on new ecm. This morning car would crank but wouldn't turn over, so I sprayed some starting fluid and after a bit cranked right up. So I figured fuel pump failing, right? Fuel pressure is fine and car worked great until about 20 minutes of driving car just died and would crank but no start unless using starting fluid. Changed fuel filter and was going to change pump but then car cranked right up, then happened again after a while. Any ideas, should I just replace fuel pump eventhough it seems to be working
