power steering problem

my power steering went out last night on my way home from the bar. I checked it today and the belt that connects to the pump is loose and the other belt is loose when the car is running. Do i have to tighten something back up or buy new belts or is something realy messed up thats gonna cost me money.

Re: power steering problem

Is the PS pump under the AC compressor?

You have to loosen the AC belt. Then tighten the PS belt. The re-tighten the AC belt.
