coolant smell

i have been getting random wiffs of burning coolant while driving more when accelerating fast but cant find any coolant leeking anywhere. I can smell it from inside the car and when i get out i can smell it alittle. I had a hose spring a hole last week and spray the **** all over the inside of the engine bay but i replaced the hose and it just started with the smell along with the smell comming from her running realy rich which i have to pinpoint that problem now also.

Re: coolant smell

could the heater core have anything to do with me not having a belt connected to my ac compressor? it seemed to have started after that was removed.

Re: coolant smell

Pull the 2 hoses off under the hood going into the firewall on the passenger side. You need to get a brass fitting so you can connect the 2 hoses together, thats it, heater core is out of the loop. I cant remember what size fitting it is that you need? The hoses are like a half inch or less in diameter.

Re: coolant smell

connectors are gone and now so is the coolant smell. Now the only smell that is bothering me is the smell of gas from a rich tpi. I think it might be the o2 sensor but i have no idea where it is hooked up to replace it. Can anyone tell me where to find it? Car spit out white gas smelling smoke on start up and idles high for a while usualy arround 1200 to 2000 then calms down after a while to 6 or 700. Also smells like gas when i punch it while im already going arround 50
