vacuum hoses not connected properly..

i have a 91 Z28 305 Automatic

it seems to be lacking power.. and will stall occasionally.. for example if im sitting in line at a stop sign, if it can move forward under its own power without me having to press the gas, its fine.. but if i have to tap the gas then the brakes it will almost always stall unless i throw it in neutral while giving it gas then it is usually fine.. backing up into a parking space or garage is a bit harder because the button has to be pushed in to get it to go into neutral..

the evap canister is where it seems the problem may be...
where it says AIR, it is capped off.

where it says TANK, starts as one hose and gets put through a y connector and both plug into a circular valve type thing (one hose in top, one in bottom) then they come out of that as on hose, which connects to a metal line, which i assume goes to the gas tank..

the block that has an electrical connector on it and says PURGE I have to leave the hose disconnected or it wont run, and if it does run it stalls EXTREMELY easily. with this hose being unhooked you can hear it sucking a lot of air. i tried capping it and plugging it into the purge, both cause it to stall.. the other end of this hose connects into the throttle body on the lower passenger side.

there is another hose that i can see.. it has a 5 wire connector (green, aqua&black, black, peach, and blue&white) run with it, which is not plugged into anything. it runs on top of the frame through a black cover in between the fender and the steering shaft and looks like it goes into the firewall.. then i believe it goes up under the dash somewhere...

any help or anything would be greatly appreciated... and let me know if any more details are needed.. thank you

Re: vacuum hoses not connected properly..

It sounds as if the IAC is unresponsive. The rest of the issues may only be symptoms.
