350* tpi decides to not idle correctly once in a while...

...so, when the car's running, it's great. sometimes, usually after some revving after startup, the idle goes from smooth to a random mistimed misfiring sounding mess. when i give it some gas, it still occurs for a bit. when i give it enough gas to messily get the revs up there for a few seconds the motor screams back to life. i then let off throttle and when it comes back down to idle it's either running good, or not. i repeat this a few times until it revs down to a smooth idle.

the car runs perfect 90% of the time (only had it out a week)...

motor is fresh...it did this prior to motor rebuild, but it was drastically more insane.
new injectors & fuel filter. new plugs and msd wires.

i figured the initial culprit was bad gas. but i eliminated that culprit after a full tank of 93.
even thought about the idle being set too low...but i figure that can't be it, cause sometimes it'll do this crap like like 20-30 mph or some crap...but USUALLY at idle in park.

also, turning car off and back on has fixed problem like 9/10 times.

are there any sensors i should maybe look into?
i plan on getting a video of this thing as soon as possible...
maybe that'll help..?

i don't know, i've done my searching and can't find anything (because searching for "idle" or "misfire" just yield 10003294908234's of results...lol)...

perhaps posting this right up-front is something common and someone will reply with like, "hey! change this: _____".

let me know what ya guys think or have any questions. i'm so bummed.

edit: i am also thinking that the rough running of the motor correlates to the cooling fan kicking in...BUT, i may be crazy on that, i just happened to read about that in another thread.

Read this article and make sure you read all of the captions i had similar issues with my car and this shows you how to take care of the iac (idle air control) to smooth out the idle. properly adjusting it has helped but i still need to pull the motor and clean it up and clean out the iac housing in the throttle body to get it perfect. also try checking the resistance across the injectors, i beleive they should be around 16 ohms for optimal. I had 2 injectors with infinite resistance (short in the circuit) I agree sometimes searching for common terms is like getting hit with a wall of useless information. and adding more terms only seems to broaden the search sometimes. good luck

thanks dude. i'll give that a shot.

as for resistance among the injectors...i'll definitely look into that.
