Horse Power question
fixing up my 89 Z n rebuilding a motor to put in it. it came off a chevy van so i believe its a heavy duty motor (350 as well) the same block as a iroc motor, im just gonna build it up n make it tpi but im trying to build it up so that i get more power out of it. im getting a cam, heddman long tube headers, looking to dual exhaust it with an xpipe, accel injectors. the problem i have is deciding whether or not to get edelbrock aluminum heads thats $600 that im not sure id wana spend. it'll cost 600 total for a list of other parts. then i was thinking of getting a new throttle body in hopes that would give me some more horses. then id do the cold air intake thing that goes where the battery shood be so that i get cooler air. if i dont get the heads now then i prob wont get em it wont b fun pulling the engine bak out n then puttin em in. anyone hav an idea or estimate of what number my hp would be. w/o the heads and all those other parts in it? im hopin to hav close to 4. mayb over 4 with heads? im not rich so its a lil tough for me 2 spend over 1,ooo on parts buuuuut whenever im at wrk i hear mustangs n challengers drive by n it makes me think i SHOULD get heads cuz it wood be sooo worth it but im not sure stiilll HELP?

Re: Horse Power question
do heads and cam before all the other bs supporting mods. trust me it will nickle and dime you to death. also regardless of what you do you are going to have to have the comp reflashed
