yeah, what he said lol. one of mine ohmed at 0.003 and still ran without dying but with poor acceleration. you should test the connector directly to get a reading from those. but of course one at a time so you dont get them mixed up again lol. I think i got mine out of order once... and i think i messed up my timing doing that and ended up with the shaking you are speaking of. (im sorry its been so long since i had my camaro so i hope im remembering this all correctly) Check to see if your harmonic balancer has rubber exposed, that will be a sign of it needing replacement. But the cough and the car not wanting to start must be something else and i dont know exactly what unless you somehow screwed up your sparkplugs? heck i dunno. thats all what comes to mind with me and im no expert, just someone who learns along the way.

Re: 305 TPI stalling problem

Not yet thats for later today. But i just replaced those wires about a week ago so i hope there good. What just makes me wonder is that loud pop that happened because the plugs werent in the right order, could that have anything to do with why im getting no spark? Believe me i hate myself for not doing all eight because i paid 240 dollars for 3 ac delco ones. My mechanic insisted on getting those because aftermarket ones might not 100% fit. I was looking at the bosch kinds but i just wanted the car to run so he ran to advance and bought the ac delco and im still having problems. but he did say when he had the car because he was the owner before me that he re[laced four of them and that was no more than 3 years ago

Re: 305 TPI stalling problem

Yea im the same way ive had the car for a year and im ending up spending more money on the car then what i paid for it lol. But yea i remember my buddy tested the timing and he said it wasnt a steady number that it was going up and down. He had some kind of radar thing it looked like and just pointed it where he nedded it. I do have to say that tuned port is a big pain when theres a problem because theres millions of things that no one is positive what it can be. But i did read how when your oil pressure is low or the oil level a knocking noise, and i do. Is this true?

Re: 305 TPI stalling problem

Dude, why did you listen to that mechanic? I am using Ford Mustang Cobra injectors in my car and it is a popular conversion for thirdgen's. Mine are 24lb/hr Ford!

Re: 305 TPI stalling problem

You can pick up a set off of ebay for like $50. Actually though, your car is 19lb/hr. So you would need the regular Mustang GT injectors.

Re: 305 TPI stalling problem

When you check your timing it should move around a bit. It is not going to be steady on 6 degrees. It will stay at 6 for a couple of min and then move a tiny bit and then settle back on 6. I hope you disconnected your EST before you set your timing. If you don't then you will not be able to set it correctly.

Re: 305 TPI stalling problem

is there any specific mustang year injectors i need because yea i asked him and he said he checked every injector plug and it was fine. Believe me i think he can make due on this months car and house payment from how much he charged me to get me in a worse position. This is my first year with this engine and me knowing nothing doesnt help thats why i joined this website, people here know tons more than him. I do believe that third gens are amazing cars thats why i still have mine after spending 1,000 dollars on B.S. with him.

Re: 305 TPI stalling problem

305 tpi cars are all 19lb/hr injectors and 350 tpi is 22 lb/hr. That is why i got away with running the 24's. The computer will compensate a little. As for the Ford injectors any EFI Mustang 5.0 will do from say 1985-95. Even a T-bird. Ford 19 lbers are orange and the 24lb are blue. Also, consider taking off your ignition control module and have it tested at a local store like Auto Zone or Advance , as they test them for free. Just remember to get the compound used to remount it , which keeps moisture out and such. It is easy to remove one you take off your dist. cap. (just 2 screws). Let me know how it goes. Later
