I found a 89 complete car with a TPI motor. Was therte a difference from the newer TPI?? If I remember correctly I think I was told the 90/92 tpi unit setup were better, but dont remember why LOL.

the 90 TPI ECU is a quicker 256K prom. speed density no MAF, timing map inside the Prom
compared to 128K prom 89 under

the TPI system is identical minus TPS and no cold start INJ,

you would need the 90 Harness or re - work the 89

WAY better Choice
if your purchasing the HSR!!!! your good to go
you will need rails & lines everything eles will swap over
No EGR check your States Emissions <<<<<<

So with the HSR I dont really need to worry about using a 90/92 computer or harness??

Re: was there a difference from 88/92 TPI intakes??

i don't know if this makes any difference but i have a tpi intake from a 89 5.7 gta and a tpi from a 91 z28 5.0 and on the front of the intake where the coolant temp sensor is, there is only one hole for the temp sensor on the intake from the 5.0 z28 and on the 5.7 trans-am there are 2 holes.
so there is one difference
