just for your info guys... i fixed it!!!!

hey guys this is my first post. i have been working on a friend of mine's car for some time now. it has been a mystery car. no one has ever been able to figure this car out. gm dealerships, performance shops, and even just average mechanics had no clue as to whats been wrong. i am not a mechanic but an industrial mechanic so i basically just work on mechanical equipment all day. but this site has been huge help.

my friends car is an 87 iroc 5.7 tpi. drivability problems for the last 3 years.

first the car had a stalling problem when coming to a stop. after a while if would do this and not run for a while afterward like so many other posts i read. then the car started doing it all the time. it would be running fantastic and right in the middle of the highway it would quit. finally the car just would not run at all which is when it came to my house on the flatbed. that was about 2 months ago.

now like i said noone has been able to figure this out so i simply told him i would do my best. turns out the car was badly flooded. i had to replace the plugs because they would not even spark at all. got the car running. it would run rich, then lean, then flood badly. at one point the car would idle fine but if you hit the throttle it would just die.

for anyone having any of the problems listed "check your connectors!!!" this car now runs fantastic and no stalling. probably the best this car has run in years. the tps sensor pig tail was not making a very poor connection, so i took a chance and replaced it and problem solved. now i know it may sound like it should have been a "no brainer fix" but remember what i said about it being to performance shops, and gm dealerships and a lot of money invested... don't overlook anything

anyway i hope this helps at least one other person out there that may be having a problem similar. this site has been a HUGE help to me so thanks guys for the great info i have gotten. much appreciated
