Re: cylinder heads

Those heads will be go to about 350-375 CHP.....

If you're goals are less than that, you have no problem.

I have a special on Profiler heads, an EXCELLENT head, as good as anything out there and 100% American made. $950 a set.

It would be good to have more breathing room on top, they would certainly help, however if it's not in your budget and your HP goals are less than 350 CHP, I wouldn't worry about it, use those heads.

your injectors will be light I'd like to see you in 30s. Let me know how I can help you with that when the time comes.

Re: cylinder heads

What are your goals? You building a track toy or something you drive daily?

You are right on the dimensions; those heads are not impressive at all in that regard, almost identical to stock 305 heads. Stock "416" 305 heads are 160cc in runner, 55cc chamber, 1.85in, 1.5ex.

Don't expect anything great in stock form. Their best feature, other then the metal they are cast in, is the exhaust runner. Don't pay too much for them.

InjectorsPlus what is this combo that will give you 375hp at the crank?

IDK off the top of my head, but I do have a disk with 10,000 dyno runs that have been documented for both BBC and SBC I can look there if you want. Gives the complete breakdown.

If you're asking me to spec an engine, there's not enough information here as to what the OP wants to do and I'm not an engine builder. I have focused my experience and knowledge to fuel systems, and head design. Not to say I haven't built engines, but when I have these discussions with customers, we never talk about building to a dyno number. We talk about building to a spec.

In this case it's going to be all about the cam, and I defer to Bullet's advice based on the desired result. They nail it every time and they know what they are doing.
