+1 on the 9th injector.
Also, are you still running 32b? I had the same problem when I changed from 32b to 6e and unplugged the CSI. I had to go into a certain table to increase the fuel at cranking.

Re: long crank on cold starts
The other item to check for is the fuel pump running at key-on, engine-off. At key-on the fuel pump should run for 2-seconds then stop. If it isn't turning on that to will cause long cranking times.
The reason is that the oil pressure needs to build which closes the fuel pump relay bypass switch which then turns on the fuel pump. It takes a bunch of cranking to get the oil pressure up enough to close the switch. At which time the engine then starts.

Re: long crank on cold starts
Before you attempt ANYTHING else, see if you can learn from my mistake.
For almost 2 years I had this same problem with my car and couldn't for the life of me figure it out. It just popped up out of nowhere. I tried replacing the cold start injector, fiddling with all kinds of sensors and just about everything short of replacing the thermal time switch.
Thios whole entire time, can you guess what the problem was?
Wait for it..............
The cold start injector fuse was blown. I didn't even know there was such a fuse. Check your fuse block. It should be a 3 amp fuse.

Re: long crank on cold starts

CSI is controlled by a seperate circuit that has nothing to do with the computer
Switch at front of intake gets power only when cranking and when engine is below a certain temp ,switch is closed sending power to the injector.
Switch is the brass unit with hex head on LH side of intake shown
Check for 12V @ switch while cranking
Check switch with DVM when engine cold; should be closed .if open switch is faulty

Re: long crank on cold starts
Havent checked in on here in a while. thanks for input. This car was a 2.8, and i swapped in a 5.7 tpi. i found the problem there is an incomplete circuit from the Ip connector to the the switch connector. i suspect I need to change a pinout at the IP harness. I used a v6 body and a v8 engine harness, and had to change a ton of c100 pinouts around
