tpi on a 70s small block

I working with a c4 vette (tpi) the guy came across a built small block from a 70s chevy but we would like to know if the tpi manifold would fit with out having to modify the manifold or the head, btw the valve covers are perimeter bolt. Does any one know if this would be a problem

Re: tpi on a 70s small block

the only difference with small blocks heads other than vortec's.. they're their own monster.. is the angles on the center 4 bolts for the manifold... which all you need is a die grinder and you'll be fine to just widen them out on the manifold

What year is the C4? if its an 86 with perimeter bolt valve covers, then the TPI setup should have the old style compatible intake manifold with the four straight center bolt holes if I am correct. the 85 and 86 TPI setups would be the only option for stock pre 86 heads without modification.

Yeah that is no biggie, didn't see this post as I was writing mine. I converted a post 87 TBI motor to carb and it was a piece of cake to angle the holes.

All C4 TPI intakes have old style reg intake bolt angle.
When GM fitted the alum centerbolt heads to Vettes in '87 they didn't change the bolt angle like they did on the cast iron F-Body heads '87+
