Sparkplug Wires 85 TPI

I have an 85 with the 305 TPI. When I got it the plug wires were zip tied in place and one was burned through from the exhaust mainifold. I put new wires on it and ran them over the the top. I did not see any holders anywhere to keep the wire from hangin too close to the exhaust manifolds, and now they are runnign hot again. While I was under the car I noticed some holders at the base of the block as to bring the wires in from the bottom. Does anyone have a pic or diagram of the stock loction for running the wires. Or has anyone come up with an aftermarket solution to protect the wires from the manifolds and keep them from over heating. When they get hot the car runs like crap.

Any help out there, I'm open to any and all suggestions or solutions. Thanks!!

Re: Sparkplug Wires 85 TPI

Thanks for the info on the sleeves. Looks like something to add to my wires, but I would still like to find out the original location/route of the iwres from the factory. Until I do a rebuild of the top half and add headers (next winter project), I need to keep them from over heating this coming summer.

Re: Sparkplug Wires 85 TPI

I don't have a pick but the wires on the left side should go on a clip at the ex.man.and the wires on the right go down under the ex. man. and up behind the engine block up to the dist.Their should be a wire holder on the rear of the block
