fuel injector issue???
fuel injector issue???
Yesterday I finished up doing some brakes on my 85 Z28. I went for a test drive to seat in the new pads. I was cruising around 40mph and decided to stomp it to see how it would accelerate. (keep in mind this is an on going project car/toy by no means a daily driver) It accelerated quickly for a second then in "bogged down" and surged and the rpms really were not climbing. I eased of the gas and it stopped bogging down and acceletated slowly but smoothly.
Now here is what I am working with. It's a 1985 Z28 Camaro TPI, it came stock with a 305. The guy I purchased it from put a 1986 350 truck motor in it with a mild cam. ( I don't know the specs on the cam) He installed the top end off of the original 305 onto the 350. So the engine has 305 H.O. cast iron heads on a 350 with a stock 305 TPI set up. I changed out all of the engine sensors, distributor, and the computer, incuding the EPROM and CALPACK to a 1985 Corvette 350. The timing is set at 10 degrees. (stock for a 85 vette) The car runs great except for this little "bogging" issue. My question is this, do you think it has the wrong injectors in it for a 350. I know the 305 came stock with the 19lb injectors, and the 350 came with 22lb injectors. I looked at the injectors on my car and cant find any stamped marks telling me what they are. So should I just get some 22lb injectors and call it a day??
Thanks for you help
Tom

They should be 22s given that nothing else was changed. Hold off on injectors until you do more troubleshooting.
Re: fuel injector issue???
The EPROM and CALPACK chips that I put in my ECU are from a factory 1985 Corvette 350 TPI. Purchased from www.TPIParts.net The 2 chips in the ECU, 1 is small about an inch long, the other is wider, and about an inch and a 1/2 long
