383 soon to get HSR swap. Injector size swap too?

My 383 currently has the FIRST Fuel Intake on it with 24 lb Bosch 3 injectors. The motor was engine dynoed at 405 HP. The car was dynoed at 275WHP with an inaccurate tune. Since then I have decided to make some improvements in order to gain some power and move the band up some. as well as get a dyno-tune from RMCR in Colorado.

In March, I will be installing some roller rockers and an underdrive pully set along with the HSR and a 58MM throttle Body. I do have plans to add a set of AFR heads and a 100-125 shot of nitrous in the next year as well.

I am thinking that my 24lbers are not big enough for my future mods. Am I correct? Should I go to 30lb or ...?

Why do you want to swap from the First to the SR?

Biggest reason is to move the power band up further. Another is there is more support for the HSR due to it being more popular. Was trying to be different when I purchased the FIRST. It will be for sale in March.

Whats the compression of the current motor and what cam is in it? What heads are on it currently?

The CR is 9.5-1. The cam specs are 234/244 on 112. And the heads are Vortec with 2.02/1.60 valves.

Cam seems big enough to do much more hp and really push the limits of the FIRST TPI setup but the heads unless really ported (i see 2.02 valves were put in) wont support the rpm range. Is that an edelbrock cam?
HSR may wake it up abit, but the heads may be the biggest restriction right now.

The engine is a Blueprint crate, so I am not sure of who the manufacturer is of the cam. I never asked them. I have intentions of installing the AFR 912s later in the year.

It kinda looks like an old edelbrock performer rpm cam. If you stick with the vortecs, you can get the AFR's which will show good gain in performance but i'd also consider a new cam while you're at it. You could seriously rework the iron vortecs with new valves and fully ported and also get big gains. Total cost between the 2 may or may not work out to the same..depends on how much work is done to the vortecs.

For that cam, my gut says it needs a little more compression..maybe 10:1. If going to aluminum heads, 11:1. (I would need to see the DCR and quench numbers to verify)
