A/C Compressor bypass
Hey guys,
So The A/C in my 87 iroc (350 TPI if that helps) does not work. It hasn't worked since the day I bought the car, and honestly I never cared. I didn't want to remove it because I entertained the idea of fixing it after college. Recently the compressor has started making a pretty awful noise, I'm worried it is seizing or a bearing is going out or something bad in general is happening.
I was wondering if I could just bypass it entirely with a non A/C belt?
Has anyone tried this?
I'm in college right now and I don't really have the time, money, or tools to do alot of work so I want to avoid removing it entirely if I can.

1987 should not be a serpentine system, but V belts right? Compressor on driver side right? Just get a shorter belt and run to the powersteering pump from and skip the A/C.
