I recently the other day replaced the valve cover gaskets. And distributor cap and rotor button. The car ran fine till I changed the valve cover gaskets I took most of the tpi off. Put everything back together and now when I start the car i t immediately jumps to about 2500 to 3000 then dies it won't stay running. Also for the little bit I did have it running, it sounded like there was back fire in the intake. Only car I have I need it running right can some one help?

check your plug wires could be bad or wrong firing order...egr is hooked up......no vacuum leaks in the runners or plenum or throttlebody if removed...timing if you removed distributor and the vacuum hoses

Ok thanks I will try that when I get home don't think the firing order is bad I looked them up and put them in the order listed. The was a vacuum that was left off but I could not find the hose that went to it. Throttle body was put back on I don't belive it has leaks but will check
