Hey everyone! I got a complete 1990 camaro tpi intake, harness, ecu and the rest of the car. So I have modded the intake to fit a classic SBC and now I'm doing the harness. I wand to eliminate everything that I don't want or need off the harness to make the engine run and shortin it so I can mount the ecu I'm the engine bay on the fire wall inside a box I made. So I want to cut off everything off except the tps, iac,ats,cts,map,knock sensor, distributor and coil wires ect and delete the vss,vats and all somg, ac and other none engine management related systems. A diagram would be awsome please help.

 

Anyone with a stand alone diagram? this is my first time playing with efi.

 

You may be able to find the diagram on the internet, some of the years are listed but I haven't been able to find the diagram for mine yet.

I have been searching, been to thunder chevy and other sites and have a bunch of diagrams but what I don't know is if I can jus cut off the wires that don't run the engine such as the smog stuff? Cand I just mark all the engine management sensors then cut all the wires then just wire the engine management wires back in? Why hasn't someone come up with a diagram yet? When I finish this project I'm going to post a thread on how to convert a factory harness to a stand alone with a detailed diagram so we don't need to pay other people to do it.

 

I have read on this site before that many owners do cut no essential wires off and cap them. They they get a prom that doesn't use those circuits anymore.

I would cut the wires off and loop them over put some liquid electrical tape on them and then heat shrink them with white heat shrink so you can write what the wire was on the heat shrink. Then tuck them back into the loom.

Maybe someone on here can post a picture of the diagram you need.
