Is their something under it? Looks like something to keep your fuel cool,the cooler your fuel the more condense it stays, a lil more hp you will get. My old camaro i had fuels lines wrapped like a coil inside of a small canister. I fill the canister with ice before every run i made down the track.
You're thinking of a Cool Can. This thing just its there as it is. I think it may be a pressure damper or something. My Buick has something in the tank called a pulsator to smooth out the fuel flow for the injectors, maybe something like that. Braided hose = definitely aftermarket.
