Bout to Drop in my Engine couple Questions
Hey guys,
I'm about to drop my 87 L98 into my 84 Z28, new fuel lines run, intank pump installed, have the engine harness waiting. My questions are, 1) Should I have the harness hooked up in the car already waiting for the engine or hook it to the engine 1st, then drop it in? 2) The car was originally a carb'ed car, using the engine harness and pcm from the 87' , is there anything I need to do besides connecting the two connectors at the firewall to make things work? Like fuse box stuff or anything like that? 3) I have aftermarket guages, no cel, or any of that stuff, will it take anything special to make my guages work? 4) Is there a wire I can tap into to make my own CEL? the original Diagnostic port still exists, I would love to tap into it and make the car as user friendly as possible. I figure going to a FI motor a CEL is probably better than just waiting for something to go wrong. Thanks in advance.
