Re: Need Help with TPI Engine

Both those TPI engines are NOT the same. The TPI intake will bolt up but the heads and cam are different. I had a buddy run into that problem with a 350 tpi engine and a 350 TBI engine from a truck. The TBI engines have a much milder cam and heads. I wouldnt bother if I were you. What is wrong with the TPI engine you have now?

Guys please read my sig

Re: Need Help with TPI Engine

I would have to agree working a swap 305 TBI to a 350TPI everything is different. Cam, heads i believe have a bigger port exhaust lift or something like that and wiring ecm wiring. But if you have the time and resources i say go for it its a nice project.

Re: Need Help with TPI Engine

yes you can put your tpi on the 305 tbi engine but you are downgrading because the tbi cars have the horrible swirl port heads and the cam is milder.... if i was you i would get a 350 block and use the headers from the tbi car and use your tpi from the other car and slap that into the rs thats is tpi equipped....

Re: Need Help with TPI Engine

I want to put in a 350 but its a hard choice when im tryna rebuild a 1987 iroc as well and i bought my brothers 91 camaro that he wrecked the passenger side of it...gave him 200 for the whole car wit a ss hood that im gonna put on the 92 camaro as well...the 305 thats in the 92 is good just needs some new headers and hass over 144K miles on it....and i know everything about the 91 305 engine and is a damn good motor...i was gonna put a cam in it anyways...or i couldl try to sell the 305TBI engine and use that money for a 350 motor since i have brand new 350 fuel injectors...i could have trader my thorq thrust rims for a LS1 engine but wasnt thinkin right and passed it on...lol...
