Removing rubber Fuel lines

I know it looks really straight forward but do these lines just screw off i need to get to the hard line. I tried to get a wrench on the top and bottom nuts but it wouldnt budge. and plus i dont want to destroy the hard metal lines taking them off. any tips on this?
