hp and torque estimate

Hello i was wondering how much power people would estimate my tpi build to be without my nitrous cause i can add 75-125 to whatever the outcome is. all my mods are in my sig if not detailed enough there, its better described in my profile. i have stock exhaust manifolds but thought with a straight through exhaust like the one i have that wouldnt cause to much power loss and i would keep some low end with them.

find what you are starting with, then add 15hp

Re: hp and torque estimate

Why would it only be adding 15 cause on that site of info it went through many problems and i have fixed everything it said i even have replaced the whole ecm. and why does the 86 auto tpi have a 9.5 to 1 compression and the rest have 9.3 to 1 is it different heads or? mine is the hotter cam tpi 305 with 215hp and 295ft Ib.

really the only thing i havent changed is the heads and exhaust manifolds and i dont think that will hold a motor back that much.

You have a TPI and a 305. Take it from me who has the same block and intake that you NEED a set of heads. Stock 305 heads aren't all that great. Stock TPI falls off in the mid to high 4000 range but if you open up the plenum. get a high flow runner set and base manifold those heads are really going to be holding you back. The exhaust manifolds will also choke all of that once you're able to pull past 5k. You need all the parts properly matched to each other. One single restriction bottlenecks the whole motor.

Fixing problems and replacing the ECM doesn't get you more horsepower than original; it regains you the lost horsepower caused by those problems. Your sig says "custom side skirt exhaust," if this doesn't include headers and y-pipe the gain is negligible. 1.7 rockers will net you a few ponies, maybe twenty or so. The original intake is not a restriction around stock power levels and already pulls cold air from in front of the radiator, so you gain nothing with your CAI. Airfoil is worth somewhere from zero to five horses. Higher fuel pressure isn't a power gain. Stock cam is stock cam, whether peanut or hotter cam, which is why 85berlinetta2.8 told you to find your engine and add a number. Stock heads, stock unported TPI. Take a few horsepower off for the age and wear of the engine, add a few back on for the mods you've done, with the better-cammed LB9 you're probably making 230-235 horsepower at the crank.

Re: hp and torque estimate

the costum side skirt is a true dual so i dont need a y pipe and the intake i did replaced the 1 by 3 inch box it takes air from and put 3'' pvc pipe so it seems like it would open that to have no restriction.

So you did replace the headers then? Add another ten horse to the previous number.
